Results from the Chafee Education and Training Voucher Evaluation
Body

Join the Urban Institute to discuss the results of an evaluation of the Chafee Education and Training Voucher (ETV) program in 10 states. Many young people leaving foster care strive to earn a college degree but need support to do so. The Chafee ETV program offers youth currently or formerly in foster care financial supports to pursue postsecondary education or vocational training. Our conversation will focus on results from analyzing administrative data in the 10 states, including characteristics of young people who receive ETVs, how and where ETVs are used, and educational outcomes.

ABOUT THE STRATEGIES FOR SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE TRANSITIONING OUT OF FOSTER CARE WEBINAR SERIES

Many programs help young people transitioning out of foster care find stable employment and pursue postsecondary education. However, little is known about these programs and their effectiveness. In this webinar series, the Urban Institute and Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago, with from funding the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, are sharing findings from recent evaluations and discussing new research on these programs to address the critical knowledge gap. We encourage practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and others supporting young people currently or formerly in foster care to join us.

UPCOMING WEBINARS IN THE SERIES

  • Results from a Formative Evaluation of Two Employment Programs for Young People Transitioning Out of Foster Care – Early 2021.
